Boot from USB Device on Unsupported PC

On old PCs, there may not be a support for booting of USB Stick/ Usb Drive. So, if you ever wish you could install Windows 7 or Windows XP from USB Stick on those PCs having no support to boot from USB, then with this method you can Boot any usb drive on such unsupported Pcs.

Step 1: Download Plop manager from Here:Plop Boot Manager  and extract the archive.

Step 2: Burn it to the DVD (Don’t make DATA dvd : Use option Burn Image to disk or use below steps)

1.        Download  ImgBurn from here : ImgBurn

2.       Install and run it.

3.       Click on "Write Image File to Disk".

4.       Go to file menu in that and Click on Browse for source file.

5.       Go to Extracted Archive of plopmanager.

6.       Go to folder name “Install” in Plopmanger’s folder.

7.       Find file named plpbtin.iso and select it and hit open.

8.       Now Insert Blank CD in tray and hit Write button.

9.       Wait for it to complete successfully.

Step 3 : Make Bootable USB Stick that you want to boot..

For E.g : Norton Ghost  (You can make windows Setup Usb Stick with this Software : Win2Flash)

Step 4 : Insert plopmanager cd to CD-Drive of unsupported PC.

Step 5: Restart PC and hit F2/F8 whichever is applicable to your PC and set Bios to boot from CD.

Step 6 : Let it boot from CD.

Step 7 : Now you can select any bootable USB Device from this boot loader of plopmanager.

Step 8 : select Usb boot in Bootmanager and Enjoy..!!
 

Make bootable Norton Ghost USB Drive

One may be wondering is there any way to make bootable Usb drive of Norton Ghost 15 from the Norton Ghost Recovery Disk, then yes there is very simple way to do so. Follow below steps to make bootable Norton Ghost Recovery USB Stick.

Prerequisites:  You have Norton Ghost 15 installed and want a bootable recovery manager in USB form instead of bootable CD/DVD.

Steps to follow :
Step 1 : Download Recovery Disk from here : NGH1501
Step 2 : Download UltraISO from here : Ultra ISO (Don’t know free trial version will allow or not -> I am having paid one.)
Step 3: insert Blank USB Stick/Pen Drive of 256MB or more (Formatted with fat 32/fat)
Step 4: Install UltraISO and go to File -> Open -> Select NGH1501.iso
Step 5: Now go to BOOTABLE Menu and Click on WRITE DISK IMAGE.


Step 6 :  The Dialogue box will appear in which select your USB Disk Against Disk Drive and Select Write Method as USB-HDD+



Step 7: Click Write and hit Yes.
Step 8 : Restart your PC -> Set your Bios to boot from USB Drive and there you go..Enjoy..!!
